Your Role as Country Director, Rwanda
As the Country Director for Rwanda, you will be Viamo’s senior leader and a passionate advocate for digital development. Your primary responsibility will be to drive growth and impact through sales and partnership development. You will lead innovative digital engagement campaigns, ensuring that every major development sector organization understands and utilizes Viamo’s solutions. Your efforts will be crucial in addressing some of the most challenging development issues.

Key Responsibilities
Sales and Partnership Development (90% of Time)
- Drive Growth and Impact: Lead the sale of Viamo’s solutions by proactively identifying and pursuing opportunities with development sector clients and donors.
- Outreach and Conversion: Conduct effective outreach, meet with potential clients and donors, and convert qualified leads into partnerships.
- Research and Understanding: Undertake in-depth research to comprehend the specific needs, priorities, and challenges of clients and donors.
- Design and Launch Projects: Collaborate with partners to co-design mobile engagement projects, prepare budgets, and establish Viamo as a digital thought leader.
- Respond to Proposals: Address Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that align with Viamo’s solutions.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with cross-functional teams to craft compelling solutions and proposals that maximize social impact and value.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain an organized pipeline of potential opportunities and track engagement activities.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Work towards monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Sales Management Strategy: Implement Viamo’s sales management strategy and track progress using the CRM system.
Supporting the Country Crew (10% of the Time)
- Partner Delight: Ensure quality and timely execution of program deliverables to delight partners.
- Mobile Network Operators: Maintain relationships with Mobile Network Operators to ensure infrastructure and agreements are in place for mobile connectivity.
- National Representation: Represent Viamo to national government agencies and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in social enterprise, INGO, Mobile Network Operator, ICT4D, donor, or international implementer roles.
- Sales and Business Development: Proven success in generating new opportunities and achieving sales targets.
- Proposal Writing and Partnerships: Demonstrated ability to write winning proposals and build strong partnerships.
- Contracts and Networking: Experience securing contracts from NGOs and UN agencies, with established professional networks.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Proven experience in co-developing ideas with partners.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, intercultural sensitivity, and a passion for empowering colleagues.
- Self-Management: Demonstrated adaptability, resourcefulness, and excellent self-management skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Local Experience: Experience living and working in Rwanda, with active professional networks.
Desirable Qualifications
- Donor Experience: Experience working with major bilateral donors such as USAID, FCDO, and EU-funded projects.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of local business, NGO laws, and telecom regulations.
- Facilitation Skills: Experience in workshop facilitation and design thinking approaches.
