Responsibilities
- Greet customers and talk about what kind, quality, and amount of goods or services they want to buy, rent, or lease.
- Advise customers on how to use and take care of the goods, and give advice about special products or services.
- Estimate or tell customers the prices, credit terms, trade-in values, warranties, and delivery dates.
- Get goods ready for purchase, rental, or lease.
- Prepare sales, rental, or leasing contracts and accept payments by cash, cheque, credit card, or automatic debit.
- Help set up merchandise displays.
- Keep sales records to manage inventory.
- Use computerized systems to keep track of inventory and reorder goods.
- May conduct sales through the Internet.
Visual Merchandisers
- Design and set up window and in-store displays.
- Put together visual displays to promote products, events, and seasonal changes.
- Make sure displays match brand guidelines and standards, including the store’s culture, image, and target market.
- Set up lighting to create a visual atmosphere.
Requirements
